AN inquest was opened yesterday into the death in hospital of a retired contracts manager.
Brian King, 67, of Humber Road, Thornaby, was admitted to the University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton, on June 24. He died last Friday.
His daughter, Susan Welch, of Tamarisk Close, Ingleby Barwick, gave evidence of identification.
Teesside Coroner Michael Sheffield adjourned the hearing pending further inquiries.
The inquest into the death of retired lorry driver Desmond Edwards was also adjourned yesterday.
Mr Edwards, 73, was pronounced dead at his home inRainsford Crescent, Thorntree, Middlesbrough, on Sunday.
His daughter, Nicola Readman, who lives at the same address, gave evidence of identification so his body can be released for cremation.
Mr Sheffield adjourned the proceedings to enable further investigations to be carried out.
