CRUNCHY crickets and toasted silkworms will be some of the creepy crawly delicacies on offer at a North-East attraction next week.
The Life Science Centre in Newcastle is putting bugs, including locusts and grasshoppers, on its menu from Monday.
Teresa MacDonald, from the centre, said: "While some insects don't look that appetising, they are actually quite tasty and form the staple diet of a lot of people in countries such as Thailand and Africa, as they are a good source of protein."
The insect dishes are part of the centre's latest exhibition, the Return of the Monster Creepy Crawlies, which includes large moving insect models and live specimens.
