Wearside League: Brothers Andrew and Stephen Roberts plundered five goals leading Darlington RA to an emphatic victory at Jarrow.
Jarrow, unbeaten in their first two games, just could not cope with the pair as Andrew rifled four goals and Stephen one. And to make matters worse for the overworked home defence, they conceded a couple of own goals through Mark Rumbles and Mark Lally.
North Shields also won by a 7-0 margin when they met Cleadon SC at Ralph Gardner Park. The result was just about determined in the first 11 minutes by which time the Robins led by three goals.
Eddie Miller and newcomer Stephen Hamil both struck hat-tricks with Ian Dugdale the other marksman.
Barnard Castle Glaxo were involved in a seven-goals thriller with Washington Nissan UK. Ross Murray bagged a brace inside ten minutes but Nissan hit back to level through David Mosley and Steve Smith.
Glaxo regained the initiative with a free kick by Craig Harrison but when Smith scored his second to make the score 3-3, it looked as if a draw might result.
John Williams though earned Barnard Castle an exciting 4-3 victory with his late strike.
No fewer than six Wolviston players were on target at Ryhope CW who failed to reply. Five goals came in the first 28 minutes from Kieron White, Andrew Steele, Paul Kreczak, Paul Edwards and Simon Corrigan. Ryhope did manage to stem the flood but there was still time for David Dowd to make the final score 6-0.
New Marske were also in scoring mode at home to Whitehaven, winning 4-1. James Kesterson netted in the first minute and added a second which together with a brace from Ian Johnson put the Seasiders four goals up before Mark Heaney scored a consolation for Whitehaven.
A 13-minutes period just before the interval when their defence leaked three goals to Richardson and Snowdon (2), cost Ferryhill Athletic dearly as they went down 3-0 to Gateshead Reserves.
Dean Talukder (2) and Tony Sibbalds led Stokesley SC to a 3-1 win at home to Harton and Westoe whose only goal came from Anthony Kent and Boldon CA finished 3-2 at Annfield Plain.
Lee Seff, Paul Oley and Michael Meek were the scorers with Craig Daglish and Chris Solesby replying for the Plain.
Anthony Cosgrove's goal on the half hour looked like being sufficient for Birtley Town at Windscale but with just five minutes remaining the equaliser came from a Joe Shepherd penalty.
