A TEESDALE village will host a family fun day this weekend to raise money for the development of a recreation ground.
Cockfield Community Association and members of Burnt Houses, Esperley and Cockfield Partnership have organised the event on Saturday.
The day will start with a children's fancy dress parade, led by Barnard Castle Youth Band, at 10.30am, followed by activities on the village greens.
These will include entertainers, a willow weaver, a storyteller and artists, funfair rides, bouncy castles, games, and stalls.
Children who want help to make carnival banners, masks, and puppets can attend free workshops at Cockfield Community Centre today and on Thursday.
The event is supported by Groundwork and Durham Rural Community Council, the Network for Children Fund and Countryside Trust.
