STORYTELLERS from across the country will keep visitors entertained at a festival in Darlington later this month.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 30, at the Drinkfield Marsh nature reserve.

It will also include a range of activities from face-painting to demonstrations of circus skills.

The reserve is open all year. It is run by Darlington Borough Council's countryside team and the Tees Forest group.

Councillor David Lyonette, the council's cabinet member for regeneration and planning, said: "The storytelling festival at Drinkfield Marsh will offer visitors a great day of activities, and help raise awareness of what the centre has to offer and how we can all work to help our environment.

"Apart from being set in a spectacular venue, this is a wonderful opportunity for people to come and hear stories from around the world told by world class storytellers"
