A STRAY dog roaming around Sedgefield Racecourse is still on the loose.
Staff, who named the black and white collie Dwain after sprinter Dwain Chambers, have spent several days trying to catch the animal.
It has been wandering around the track since last Wednesday and is lame, with a severe mark on its back.
A woman has offered to re-home the dog if she can catch it.
So far neither the RSPCA, police or council dog warden have been able to help.
Amy Starkey, commercial manager at the course, said staff had become quite attached to the dog, but were concerned for its welfare.
She said: "He is still around and about and it looks like he is getting more poorly and more lame."
