SECURITY specialists Cam-Tec Systems has announced it is on course to double its annual turnover.
The County Durham firm, which has installed closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems for many blue-chip companies in the region, reported orders worth more than £2m up to the end of June - already surpassing its turnover for the whole of last year.
"There are a number of factors, but the simple fact is that general industry, our biggest sector, is spending more this year on security and access control issues," said Cam-Tec's managing director Andrew Westgarth.
Launched in 1992, Cam-Tec specialises in the design and installation of advanced CCTV surveillance, perimeter detection and access control systems across a wide range of industries.
Sales director Richard Hovington said: "Like many companies in the region, we experienced a difficult first few months last year, but the past 18 months have been exceptionally busy, with completed orders in excess £1.5m by the end of June and other significant projects confirmed."
