A MOTHER-OF-TWO was clocked at 117mph as she rode her motorbike on the A1(M), a court was told.
Paula Hayes, who had no insurance, licence or test certificate for the machine - was told she had been travelling at a "ludicrously high speed", by presiding magistrate David Gravells.
Hayes, 33, of Kirkbright Close, Lingdale, near Whitby North Yorkshire, was fined a total of £250 with £45 costs and banned for three months.
David Griffiths, prosecuting, said police stopped Hayes on her 600cc Yamaha Fazer as she headed north at Boroughbridge, on the evening of May 4.
Hayes, who admitted speeding and not having insurance, a licence or test certificate, told Harrogate magistrates: ''It was a sunny day so I popped the bike out for a little bit. I literally didn't realise the speed I was going.''
Sentencing her, Mr Gravells said: "This was a ludicrously high speed on a motorcycle, particularly as you were uninsured. It is quite unacceptable to do that sort of thing."
