Around £30,000 worth of drugs and cash have been recovered following police raids on houses in Teesside earlier this week.

At 3pm on Tuesday officers from Stockton Drugs Unit stopped a 26-year-old man in a car in the Darlington area.

The man was found to be in possession of almost £6,000 worth of class A and B controlled drugs and was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

As a result of his arrest a house in the Brundall Close area of Stockton was searched and a further £200 worth of controlled drugs was recovered and a 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs.

A second house was searched in the High Street area of Yarm and £20,000 worth of controlled drugs were seized and a 50-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs.

As a result of these arrests £3,500 in cash has also been seized.

Three people have been questioned at Stockton Police Station in relation of conspiracy to supply cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamine and cannabis resin.

They are to be bailed for further forensic tests to be carried out.
