A CARDIAC technician has secured a full-time traineeship to further her career and counter a shortage of skills in echocardiography.
Margaret Mundy, who works at York District Hospital, is one of only 18 people to be offered a training post by the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
She will be trained in echocardiography, which uses ultrasound to create a picture of the heart, giving vital information about its condition.
The BHF is spending £850,000 on the trainees to tackle the shortage of echo-cardiographers in the UK.
