Police have renewed an appeal for help from the public after a post office was robbed last week.
Two robbers, one carrying a gun, made off with thousands of pounds in a raid on the post office in Dipton, near Stanley, on August 12. The masked raiders made off in a stolen, dark blue, L-registration, Ford Mondeo. It was found abandoned near the Grey Horse pub in nearby Flint Hill. A silver Peugeot 206 was seen leaving Flint Hill at about the same time and detectives are keen to trace the driver, to eliminate him from their inquiries. Anyone with information is asked to contact CID at Consett police station, on (01207) 504204.
