DOZENS of youngsters were Olympians for a day when they took part in a fun sporting event.
About 130 children, who attend youth groups and holiday clubs in Darlington took to the field at Polam Hall School for Girls for a series of contests in the town's mini-Olympics.
Sack races, egg and spoon races, three-legged races and other challenges saw youngsters pitting their skills against each other.
Medals and toys were presented to competitors, aged between three and 14, as a reward for their efforts in yesterday's gruelling events.
