A COUNCIL is reinforcing its anti-drugs message by evicting a dealer's mother.
Wear Valley District Council has been granted a possession order on a house on the Woodhouse Close Estate, in Bishop Auckland.
Darlington County Court issued the order after hearing that the tenant had breached her agreement by allowing the property to be used to sell drugs.
The tenant's son was jailed for three years after admitting supplying a Class A drug.
A council spokesman said: "The council supplied the court with evidence about the drug problems on the Woodhouse Close Estate and the attempts that are being made to improve the quality of life for residents.
"The council is taking all measures to combat these problems by operating a street wardens scheme, by introducing a new tenancy agreement and by employing tenancy enforcement officers."
