INTERNATIONAL swimmers Caroline Saxby and Chris Alderton met young stars of the future at development camps designed to encourage children to excel at the sport.
Ms Saxby, a Commonwealth Games finalist, and Mr Alderton, a European Youth Olympics silver medallist, took time out from their training with Wear Valley Amateur Swimming Club to visit the Durham Sport camps held in Teesdale. The 14 children taking part were selected because they had performed well at their school galas.
The camps were organised by Andrew Powell, Durham Sports' swimming development officer, and Louise and Tricia Snaith, of Teesdale ASC.
