MORE than 13,000 householders will be getting to grips with a new rubbish bin system next week in a bid to reach recycling targets.
Residents in Easingwold and Bedale will be some of the first to adopt the new waste collection scheme, which should be operating throughout Hambleton by 2005.
Following a successful pilot in Thirsk last year, Hambleton District Council is asking 13,200 householders to separate their waste into two bins - green for garden waste and black for household rubbish.
From September 1, the bins will be collected on alternate weeks.
A call centre dealing with queries from householders will open on Wednesday.
