PROPOSALS to build a nursery in Hartlepool look likely to be approved.
Members of Hartlepool Borough Council's planning committee will meet on Wednesday to discuss plans to build a nursery unit at the town's Lynnfield Primary School.
It would include community learning rooms, multi-use room, activity room and parent and child facilities.
The nursery would have 39 places and replace and upgrade the existing facility at the school.
Under the plan, the community room and multi-purpose/activity rooms will be used for a range of activities such as adult education classes, meeting for community groups and keep-fit classes.
The rooms would be booked and managed through the school, and the building used during school hours through to early evenings.
Residents have objected to the plans. They are concerned children and youths, who regularly climb the roof of the existing school, would use the proposed sloping roof as a slide in snowy weather.
Planning officers have recommended approval of the scheme.
