FAMILY FUN: Preston Hall Museum holds a family show this weekend, with entertainment including a fun fair, showjumping, sideshows and trade stands.
The fun begins tomorrow and continues until Monday. Tomorrow, entrance costs £1, with children wearing fancy dress admitted free. Admission charges for the remaining days is £3 for adults and concessions £1. The under-fives and disabled visitors admitted free. WARD ARRANGEMENTS: A review of electoral arrangements for Ingleby Barwick has been completed. There will be two wards, Ingleby Barwick East and Ingleby Barwick West, each electing three borough councillors. The boundary between the wards will follow the road linking Queen Elizabeth way south to Ingleby Way, east along part of Ingleby Way then south along Barwick Way to Low Lane. Ingleby Barwick East will include the parishes of Maltby and Hilton.
STARS TALK: Dr John McCue, director of the planetarium at Castle Eden Walkway, will given a talk and slide show on astronomy at Egglescliffe Library, on Tuesday, and at Yarm Library, on the following Friday. Both talks start at 10.30am. Numbers are limited and places can be booked through library staff. Under-fives must be accompanied by an adult and children under the age of eight must be accompanied to and from the event.
ANNUAL SHOW: Yarm Show takes place at the social centre on Monday, from 1.30pm. Trophies will be presented at 3.30pm followed by an auction of unclaimed produce at 4pm. Admission is 25p for adults and 10p for children.
COURSE STARTS: A patchwork and quilting course will begin at Kirklevington on Thursday, September 11. Classes will run from 1pm to 3pm for 12 weeks. The course costs £35, including materials for the first session. For details, or to enrol, call Lynn Mackenzie on (01642) 783483.
