AN ANTIQUES expert will be aiming to put a price on family heirlooms at a fundraising valuation night.

North-East antiques expert Giles Hodges will be at the Ravensworth Arms at Lamesley, between Chester-le-Street and Gateshead, on Tuesday September 16.

The event, which begins at 7pm, is to raise money for an organisation that trains dogs to help people with disabilities.

There will also be a mini auction for luxury items from a Harrods hamper to signed Newcastle United memorabilia.

The event is designed to raise money for the International Dog Service Fund, which trains dogs specifically to meet its future owner's needs. The charity is trying to raise funds to set up a training centre in Chester-le-Street.

Tickets to the evening cost £2 and are available by calling Ruth Young on (0191) 388 6156.
