A 21-YEAR-OLD rider from Sadberge has brought home an important trophy from the international side saddle championships at Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire.
Jane Forster's mount, thoroughbred Cinderella's Mischief, won the MEG trophy for most points over the year from qualifying equitation classes in the adult section.
Jane, who has been riding side saddle for five years, said: "I have had Mischief, who had never been under side saddle before, since January. He was not even for sale at the time. I fell in love with him from the start."
She had to win 11 equitation qualifiers and also took two second places to acquire the 63 winning points.
"There were competitors from all over the world handing in their cards to be judged in that section," she added.
Laura Gray from Brafferton won the junior section with 61 points.
Anne Forster - Jane's mother - is the Area 2 secretary and she says there is now quite a strong contingent in the North-East.
"The girls do one-day events - anything other people do astride, we do side saddle."
