TORE ANDRE FLO last night took a step closer to leaving Sunderland before the closure of the transfer window next Sunday, writes Paul Fraser.
The Norwegian's agent claims that the £6.75m misfit is currently mulling over an offer from Italian side Siena after the two clubs brokered a loan deal.
However, sources close to the club indicated that although talks have started over Flo moving on nothing has been finalised.
Gunnar Martin Kjenner, the striker's advisor, said: "The clubs have agreed a two year loan deal.
"Now it is up to Flo to decide where his future lies."
Sunderland are known to prefer offloading the player permanently and recoup at least some cash from the record transfer fee they splashed out on him nearly a year ago.
But the Black Cats are resigned to losing big money on Flo and Northern Echo SPORT understands they could be willing to let him leave for less than £1m.
Serie A newboys Siena have been tracking Flo for some time, but with the transfer deadline approaching the need to snap their top target up has become a priority.
The 30-year-old is thought to prefer a move to Spain - where Real Betis have been credited with an interest - but Siena now looks like the most likely destination.
