GIANT snail races and predators that feast on bugs are two of the attractions on offer at a museum this weekend.
The Life Science Centre, in Newcastle, will host a free event based on its Monster Creepy Crawlies exhibition on Sunday and Monday.
There will be live music, free face-painting and a bouncy castle. Visitors can meet insects on the Creepy Crawly Bus, and learn about their predators, such as Bart the monitor lizard, from the Exotic Animal Welfare Trust, in Tow Law, County Durham, and Scooby the barn owl.
Liz Dean, deputy director of the Life centre, said: "The Exotic Animal Welfare Trust has been at the centre over the past few weeks and have been hugely popular with our visitors, so we have invited them to join in the fun this bank holiday.
