Durham League: Only a miracle can prevent Leeholme from repeating their League Championship win of last season after they whitewashed the visiting Bowburn.
This pushed them ten points clear of Crook Glenholme, who are certain to take the runners-up award after their whitewash success against the visiting Langley Park.
Leeholme beat Bowburn by 101 shots to 54 with the rink scores (Leeholme names first) C Duffy 37 G Arkwright 8; W. Teesdale 26 G. Hutchinson 18; K. Stamp 19 B. Hann 12; D. Barron 19 P. Whitfield 16.
Newton Hall were looking for a big win at Murton to help promotion chances from the Second Division but were surprised by the home side, who came through to win on the aggregate, which they took by 88 shots to 73. The rink scores (Murton names first) were A. Applegarth 28 K. Yarnell 10; R. Spindler 25 G. Mein 11; S. Armstrong 21 C. Cowley 29; J. banister 14 S. Smith 23.
Nevilles Cross also were beat, allowing Brandon, who only dropped two points at Vane Tempest to shoot up to second place and become firm favourites for promotion and possibly division winners.
Chilton strengthened their promotion chances from the Third Division by beating the visiting challengers from Willington Spectrum by 74 shots to 69 with the rink scores (Chilton names first) M. Spennymoor A held on to their one point advantage at the top of the First Division after they beat their hosts at Cockton Hill A by four points. Crook Glenholme remain in second place following their four points victory at Shildon Rail A, whilst third placed Sherburn remain a point behind Crook following their four points win over the visiting Leeholme.
Cockton Hill A went down by 40 shots to 75 against Spennymoor A with the rink scores (Cockton Hill names first) A. Wilson 6 B. Dobbin 25; D. Oliver 20 G. Fawcett 19; S. Hammond 14 G. Storey 31.
Langley Park A became the first team this season to beat the visiting league leaders, Addison Park and they did it style by completing a whitewash. The Park won by 71 shots to 37 it the rink scores (Langley Park names first) M. Riley 30 J. Muirhead 11; W. Dover 16 R. Bell 15; F. Bates 25 E. Richardson 11.
Despite this defeat Addison Park are Second Division champions with a nine points advantage over Chilton, who are eight points ahead of Langley Park A.
Bishop Auckland made certain of promotion from the Third Division and probably ensured the title when they whitewashed the visiting Cockton Hill B. Belmont moved into second place, eight points behind the Bishops but with a two points advantage over Spennymoor B following their whitewash win at Spennymoor C.

A return to winning form gives Spennymoor A a ten points lead in division one with just three weeks remaining. They also have a game in hand over all the rest. Wolsingham lost top spot in division two when they had a bye. Any one of the top four could yet take the title but Cockton Hill B have a game in hand on the other contenders.

SWD Vets Team Knockout Final
Sherburn pulled off a good win at Fishburn against Crook Glenholme. The two teams, who are both looking to land the First Division Championship, were separated by fifteen shots at the end.
Sherburn won by 69 shots to 54.

North Eastern Ladies League
The two top teams enjoyed contrasting fortunes in last weeks fixtures when leaders Blackhall were 5-0 winners over Horden and challengers Wingate returned pointless from Owton Lodge. Peterlee beat Burn Valley 3-2, Grayfields were 3-2 victors against Staby House and reigning champions Park won 3-1 against Shotton.

Darlington Veterans League
A fine win by 31 shots saw the RA take all four points from runaway leaders Dene who suffered their first defeat of the season, with a lead of 7 points. Dene are still firm favourites for the title but several teams could take advantage should they lose their form. Only six points cover the next seven places and only the bottom two clubs are out of contention for second place.
Woodland A are doomed to be relegated together with South Park A who are in serious trouble. However it is not all bad news for South Park as their B team, are sure to be promoted but what a selection problem they will have next season with the B team in the A division and their A team in the B Division. The B Division has been dominated by Hundens A and South Park B all the season and it now appears their final game of then season when they meet will decide who goes up as champions.
