A CAMPAIGN to send a woman fighting cancer on a 5,000-mile trip for treatment has reached halfway.
The Pam Aston Flight for Life Campaign is aiming to raise £20,000 to send the 46-year-old mother-of-one to the Issells clinic, in Mexico, for urgent treatment
Mrs Aston, from Spennymoor, County Durham, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998 and, after a mastectomy and therapy, thought she had beaten the disease.
Last October, she learned she has secondary cancer of the liver, which doctors in the UK have told her is incurable.
Events to help send her to the Oasis of Hope Hospital, in Tijuana, Mexico have included abseils, raffles, tombolas and entertainment evenings.
A prize draw has been organised at Asda, in Spennymoor, tomorrow.
Tickets will be available in the store from 10am to 1pm.
