Loftus are still out in front of Division One following their four wickets victory over third placed Hinderwell.

Batting first, Hinderwell were all out for just 81 which included 30 by Spenceley. The batsmen though found the bowling of Whitwell with six for 26 and Barritt, who returned two for 17 problematic but when Loftus replied they lost no fewer than six wickets reaching the modest target and were indebted to Steven Pearson who carried his bat for 29 out of a total of 84 for six. Bowes returned four for 27 and Swain two for 28 for Hinderwell.

Dormans are second following their 36 runs success at home to Paragonians. When they made first use of the wicket Dormans posted the useful total of 173 all out which included 57 by opened Patton and 46 by Grosvenor who also went in first. Iqbal added 29 and for Paragonians, Allinson took six for 47 and Melrose four for 65.

When they responded, Paragonians had Rhoden (65) in form but the innings closed on 137 as Hadfield captured five for 64 and Dale three for 20.

Norton managed only 103 all out at Staithes for whom Steve Thornton captured five for 32, Stuart Theaker three for 27 and Andrew Theaker two for 27. Top batsman for Norton was Brooks who ended unbeaten on 27 and Harker added 23 while the total included no fewer than 23 extras.

In reply, Staithes lost three early wickets but Richard went in first, stayed firm and he was still there when the winning run was accumulated having made 43 not out.

Ormesby Hall had six wickets to spare at Brotton where their target was 107. Leech top performed with the bat making 35 and for Brotton Yeoman claimed two for 34 runs.

Peacock produced the best figures of the game, however, and his six for 54 together with three for 21 from Wilkinson made Brotton struggled to reach three figures.

At the start of the innings though there was promise with Wrigley scoring 20 and Hanzrik (23) but a collapse followed.

The Merlin had just 12 runs to spare defeating Normanby Parklands despite posting 150 for nine which included 51 by opener Pacitto. Mee added 47 and for Normanby Parklands no bowler did better than Fox who picked up six of the nine wickets to go down at a cost of 34 runs.

In reply, Parklands went close before the innings ended on 138 all out. Following a poor start when the first four batsmen managed only six runs between them, a recovery took place through Scrafton (34) and Reeder (32). Later, Fox added 22 but when Tweedy returned four for 55, Chapman two for 38 and J Mee two for 13 the innings ended 13 runs short of a winning target.

Boosbeck are ahead of Moorsholm in Division Two. Their latest success came at Blacksmiths Arms where they had just two wickets to spare over the bottom side. When they batted first, Blacksmiths Arms realised 157 including useful contributions especially from Prosser with 57. King contributed 28 and for Boosbeck Lorraines claimed five for 63 and Ward five for 65.

When they went into bat Boosbeck made a reasonable start through Ward (21) and C Passmore (29). S Passmore was the match winner though as he ended unbeaten on 60 out of a total of 158 for eight. Hann almost pulled the game out of the fire for Blacksmiths Arms returning six for 57.

Moorsholm hosted Normanby Parklands and won by eight wickets. Batting first, Parklands struggled to 99 all out as Hooker claimed four for 21, Allison two for ten and Ward two for 18.

Keith Harding batted throughout the Moorsholm reply finishing undefeated on 28 and after a two wickets spell he found a partner in Hooker (28no) and then pair saw their side to a crucial victory with eight wickets remaining..

Cowpen Bewley were dismissed for just 28 at home to Loftus for whom Shaw took wickets for a mere 12 runs and Smithies four for 12.

Batting first, Loftus ended with 148 on the board of which Carr made 34. A number of batsmen reached double figures even though Carr captured four for 29 and Quinn four for 34 for Cowpen Bewley.

Skelton Castle had 51 runs in hand of Ormesby Hall after realising 172 all out. Allan (32), Elliott (26) and top scored Wrigley who added 53 were the main contributors to the visitor's total and for the home side, Poole took four for 42 and Davies four for 56. Pelling, who opened the attack ended with two for 40.

When they responded, Ormesby Hall lost both openers for a total of just two runs before Poole added 35 batting at number three. Although Knight who went in at number nine, scored 24 the Ormesby Hall innings only produced a total of 121 as Hogarth returned seven for 24.

The game between New Marske and Dormanstown ended in a draw. When they batted first the visitors reached 179 for three which included 50 by Tony Lloyd and 61 not out from Johnson. New Marske's reply finished with 138 for six on the board and included 33 from Lynn and 38 not out by Burns. Dowson had figures of three for 38 and Lloyd two for 29 in the Dormanstown attack.
