MILITARY vehicles which saw service in conflicts throughout the 20th Century will roll into the North-East for a record-breaking gathering this weekend.
Organisers of the annual Military Vehicle Rally, in the grounds of the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery, in Durham City, will celebrate the event's 30th successive year on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.
Tony Marshall, of the North-East Military Vehicle Club, said: "We think this is a record for this type of event, a military vehicle show organised by the same club on the same site for 30 years.
"The DLI rally is the highlight of the club's year and, as always, there'll be a varied display of more than 70 Allied vehicles from World War Two until the present day, with the emphasis on British types.
"Many on display have just returned from a tour of southern Norway and a display in Belgium."
Heavy, medium and light trucks, Jeeps, tracked vehicles, staff cars and motorcycles will be dotted around the Aykley Heads site.
There will be a working field kitchen, wartime and post-war medical units and Army radio equipment.
Refreshments will be available at the museum cafeteria, and a pipe band will perform on both days.
Entry to the rally, which runs from 10am to 4pm on both days, is free, as is car parking in the museum grounds or alongside nearby County Hall.
