AN officer is to be recruited by the Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) and given the task of drawing volunteers to the county.
Helped by a Community Fund grant, Hambleton, Richmondshire and Ripon and District CABs will employ the worker for a year.
The recruitment and development officer will start work at the beginning of National Advice Week 2003, which takes place from September 1 to 7.
Hambleton CAB chairwoman Jane Harvey said: "We are very excited about this project and pleased its launch coincides with Advice Week 2003.
"The theme will be help at the heart of your community, and we hope people will realise that we need more volunteers to keep services here in North Yorkshire."
