THE airborne lifesavers of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance have celebrated a milestone.
Railway company Arriva Trains Northern has become its first Platinum Corporate Mission Partner.
The company presented the helicopter team with £10,000 under its corporate giving scheme - and is now hoping other organisations will follow suit.
The presentation took place at York racecourse on the last day of the city's Ebor Festival.
The chairman of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service Charity, TV presenter Harry Gration, said: "During the past 12 months, we have endured quite uncertain times, but having secured the short-term financial difficulties, we are now in a position to plan for a future.
"We still have a long way to go, but we are definitely heading in the right direction - and we offer our sincere thanks to Arriva Trains Northern for its support."
