A contractor working on the Wembley Stadium project has bought a machining and assembly firm.
Cordell Group, based in Stockton, has acquired fellow Teesside firm Bowater Engineering.
Ten staff working for Bowater will be taken on by the Cordell Group, which will rename the business Bowater Cordell Engineering.
It is the second major acquisition this year. Cordell bought Structures Teesside in April.
Cordell, the leading private engineering and construction business in the region, will now have a total of 6,600sq metres of manufacturing capacity and the ability to add machining to its list of capabilities.
David Rush, managing director, said: "Bowater's business is a good fit with Cordell's other multi-disciplined design, fabrication and construction activities.
"Furthermore, we believe that the management skills and experience that we will bring to Bowater's operations will in due course lead to a significant expansion of its current business and employment levels."
