DANNY MILLS has delivered a parting shot at Leeds United boss Peter Reid after completing a loan move to Middlesbrough, writes Paul Fraser.
The England right-back, who was introduced to the Riverside faithful along with Gaizka Mendieta before yesterday's clash with Arsenal, has arrived on Teesside on a season-long deal.
Reid has offloaded Mills after failing to be convinced about the player's abilities and publically criticising the defender's performances.
And the former Charlton man blasted: "Within two months I have gone from starting a European Championshion qualifier for England to be completely omitted from the first-team squad.
"Read into that what you will.
"I find it a slur on my character that the manager has questioned my training and, in his opinion, I have not performed in matches and training.
"If I am honest I could have played better against Burnley and Shelbourne pre-season but all players would probably say the same.
"But to suggest my training has not been up to scratch, I find very difficult to take.
"On my first day back at pre-season training the manager assured me that the rumours in the press that I could be on my way were rubbish.
"I was delighted to hear that.
"But now I am wondering whether the manager was completely straight with me."
