A MAN wanted on a police warrant was arrested when he inadvertently damaged an officer's car.
The 33-year-old Darlington man had stopped in traffic in Sadberge, on Saturday afternoon, when a police car drew up behind.
Police said that a set of ladders attached to the roof of his Volkswagen Golf then rolled off and hit the patrol car causing minor damage.
An officer got out to speak to the man and then discovered he was wanted on an warrant for failing to attend Consett Magistrates' Court for minor motoring offences.
He was held in custody before attending court today.
