A GLASS studio is moving into bigger premises this week.
Ramsay Studio Glass is transferring from Consett to the Rear House Gallery, Front Street, Stanley.
Owner Michael Ramsay, 28, believes it will create the only art glass studio in the North-East where stained, blown and kiln glass is designed and manufactured under one roof.
He set up the company seven years ago, with financial aid from the Prince's Trust, and views the move as the realisation of the second of three personal ambitions.
"The first was the creation of the business in rented premises at Consett," he said.
"The second is this move, which provides additional space for much-needed facilities, to display all kinds of artistic work, including our own.
"Ambition number three will be the eventual provision of tailor-made studio facilities, where local artists can work in a state-of-the-art environment."
