THE battle cry of a medieval army was raised at a quiet Cleveland country spot yesterday.
Medieval re-enactment group Anmod Dracan demonstrated the art of warfare at the Margrove Heritage Centre, near Guisborough, the ancient capital of old Cleveland.
As well as re-enacting a battle, the group demonstrated medieval crafts and skills, including pewter casting, leather working, wood turning and weaving.
The group camped overnight following a similar display at the heritage centre on the Sunday.
A spokesman for the Margrove Heritage Centre said: "It's been great fun over the whole weekend.
"It's quiet in the morning, but it soon fills up in the afternoon, especially for the battle."
The last great medieval battles to be fought in the region included the Battle of the Banner, near Northallerton, in the 12th Century and the Battle of Neville's Cross, in Durham City, in 1346. Both were victories against the Scots.
