Middlesbrough teenager Tom Robinson looks set to be named in Yorkshire's EGU Northern Counties title-decider with Roses rivals Lancashire this weekend after impressing in the White Rose county's comfortable win over Derbyshire.
The 17-year-old from Marton won both his singles and foursomes matches during Yorkshire's five-point victory at Erewash Valley and could well figure at Pleasington on Saturday.
Places are up for grabs in the Yorkshire side following the decision by both Richard Finch and Robinson's clubmate Jonathan Lupton to turn professional and skipper Iain Mackenzie said: "Town (Andy) and Danny Denison will certainly be figuring, but we have yet to finalise our team."
Walker Cup player Michael Skelton - also of Middlesbrough Brass Castle - will also figure.
* Teesside golfer Jason Jones' season keeps getting better and better. After capturing the Cleveland Salver earlier in the season, Jones has now added the prestigious North Yorskhire/ North Durham strokeplay title with a superb display at Wynyard.
The plus 2 handicapper carded rounds of 71 and 69 to win the coveted championship by one shot.
