A FEMALE driver was killed and four others injured in an accident on the A19 on Sunday.
The woman, in her 60s and from the Durham area, was killed when her blue Honda Civic car collided with a silver Toyota Corolla car at 5.50pm.
The accidents took place on the junction with Trent Holme Lane, known as the Black Swan crossroads, near Crathorne, North Yorkshire.
A passenger in the Honda was taken by ambulance to the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, with serious injuries.
The driver of the Toyota, a man in his 20s from Kent, and his two passengers, were also taken to the hospital.
The road was closed until 9.45pm to allow officers to investigate the cause of the accident.
