A LANDSCAPE architect, who gained fame for his catwalk-style garden which featured international model Jodie Kidd, is teaming up with another celebrity to add green-fingered flair to an exclusive housing development.
Alan Capper, of Newcastle firm Kent Design, has been appointed to work alongside designer Bruce Oldfield on a £17m restoration scheme involving 14 townhouses in Jesmond, Newcastle.
He will design the private walled gardens to the rear of each home in Jesmond Road West, which will revert to its former name, Carlton Terrace.
The Chelsea Flower Show multi-award winner will also play an important role in giving the front of the elegant terrace a Victorian feel.
The aim is to restore the walls, railings, stone plinths, string courses and lintels of each property, and create mature gardens - restoring the John Dobson-designed street to its former glory.
Mr Capper said: "I am very pleased to be appointed as landscape and garden design consultant on this very prestigious development.
"The south-facing garden spaces have great potential for stylish urban outdoor living, and working alongside Bruce Oldfield will be an honour and a rewarding experience."
The five-bedroom, spacious homes will go on sale from £1m up to £2m.
