A RESCUE team which repeatedly race against the clock to reach lost and injured walkers is appealing for help.
The 50 volunteers of Cleveland Search and Rescue have been called to 19 incidents this year on the North Yorkshire Moors.
The group is appealing to people to help raise funds to maintain the unpaid rescue service which costs £1,600 a year to run.
The rescuers have organised an eight-mile fell race over the North Yorkshire Moors on September 6, starting and finishing at Lord Stones Country Park, on Carlton Moor.
People taking up the challenge will have to climb up to 1,800ft over the hills to Hasty Bank and back - and pay a fee of £8 for the privilege. All proceeds will go to team funds.
People wanting to take part in the Viking Chase, are asked to contact the event secretary on (01642) 722788 or visit the website on www.clevelandsrt.co.uk.
