A COMMUNITY fun day brought scores of families together at the weekend.
A procession travelling through the centre of Cockfield, in Teesdale, started the village's family fun day.
Barnard Castle Youth Band led the parade, which carried banners and wore handmade masks and hats, down to the central village greens.
Activities there included a magician and balloon modeller, bouncy castles, a fun house, rides stalls, a fancy dress competition and a tug of war contest which was won by a team from the Queen's Head pub.
Money raised from the event will go towards local youth activities and the renovation of the recreation ground. The day was organised by community development worker Danielle Barnes, Cockfield Community Association, the Burnt House, Esperley and Cockfield Partnership and Groundwork.
Funding came from County Durham Foundations Network for Children Fund and the Countryside Trust and was supported by Hatton Traffic Management, Barnard Castle police and Sure Start Teesdale
