A DARLINGTON man will run in the Moscow Marathon to raise money for a cancer charity.
Steve Coupland began raising money for Breast Cancer Care after his wife, Christine, was diagnosed with the disease in June 1998.
He decided to raise £10,000 by taking part in marathons and other sponsored events.
Mr Coupland has exceeded his original target and the total raised so far is £11,584.
On Sunday he will run in the Moscow Marathon.
He said: "I decided to raise £10,000 for Breast Cancer Care by running marathons around the world.
"I pay all my own travel costs and every penny is donated to Breast Cancer Care."
Mr Coupland has also taken part in marathons in Rotterdam, Prague, Budapest, Tromso and New York.
He has also climbed Kilimanjaro and Mount Toubkal, in Morocco.
Details of Mr Coupland's fundraising efforts are available from www.breastcancercare.co.uk
