Youngsters who have volunteered to help clean up their area in twice-weekly two-hour litter picks during August are being rewarded with a party today.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's community safety wardens, Dave Grimwood and Michelle Nicholls, organised the Monday and Friday afternoon tidy-up sessions around The Closes estate in Redcar.
Now Newcomen Community Forum chairman Ray Hall has been awarded a £100 grant from the West Redcar Single Regeneration Budget's Community Chest to treat the 37 children to the party at McDonald's in the town.
