Division 3: Axa Insurance ran out comfortable winners against AFC Aruba, but made harder work of it than they perhaps should have. Axa started well and took the led after 15 minutes when Chris Baines beat a defender and the keeper to roll in the opener. However the visitors were soon level after David Langburn capitalised on a defensive mix-up to drive home from a tight angle. Axa then restored their lead on the half hour, a weak clearance from the Aruba defence was played to Baines and he took a touch before smashing a 35-yard volley over the despairing keeper. A powerful close range header from Jon Roote made it 3-1, but another defensive blunder let in Jame Gardner to pull a goal back just before half time. In the second half Baines completed his first hat-trick with a fine finish, then Barry Foster added a fifth. However Aruba again gave themselves hope through a Stephen Murphy penalty. AXA deserved to win and finished much the strong. Another from Baines was followed by 45-yard chip over the keeper to make it seven. The final word was left to the outstanding Baines as he latched on to a long clearance to score his fifth and make the final score 8-3.

The Falchion bounced back after their disappointing show last week, putting in a solid display to beat the Cricketers 1-0. After a goalless first half, with the home side being denied by the Cricketers keeper Kenneth Burns, who put in a man of the match performance to frustrate the Falchion, with the away team adopting the long ball game, it looked like Burns and his defence would hold out for the full 90 minutes, but finally the pressure paid off with James Benson coming of the bench, never gave up on another Falchion attack to keep the ball in play, he crossed for Anth Burton to hit home from close range to grab the winner.
