Langbaurgh League: Three sides are still neck and neck at the top of the table with Maltby just four points behind the trio in fourth position.
All four teams won at the weekend with Broughton and Kirby defeating Skelton Castle by five wickets. batting first, the home side ended on 140 for eight which included 27 by Stainthorpe and 32 from Hogarth. Later Gratton added a valuable 25 runs and for Broughton and Kirby, Blayden claimed five for 17 runs and Smith gave support with two for 37.
When they went into bat, the visitors conceded two early wickets before Robinson (20) found a partner in Lewis who made 30 when the pair shared a third wicket partnership. Cook then carried his bat for 29 and Briddock contributed 23 to Broughton and Kirby's five wickets victory, which was their 18th in 21 outings. Stainthorpe had a good day with the ball for Skelton Castle capturing four for 57 runs.
East Harlsey reduced Crathorne to 91 after totalling 157 for five batting first. They made a very poor beginning to their innings when four of the first five batsmen managed only eight runs between them but Willey (34) and Sewell, who scored before being run out, retrieved the situation.
The healthy total of 157 for eight was eventually accumulated even though Howard Leng took two for 29, Blench two for 42 and Bruce and Clemmitt picked up one wicket each.
When Crathorne responded they too made an indifferent start but before an innings of 34 by Blench raised their hopes but eventually the innings closed for just 91 as Grainge returned the outstanding figures of seven for 42 and Willey took three for 62.
Kirby Sigston visited Scruton and won by nine wickets. Cowton claimed seven for 36 and Clarkton had three for 31 when Scruton were all out for 80 which included 29 by opening batsman Barker.
The target proved comfortable for Kirby Sigston and Rayner carried his bat for 46 when he opened the innings. Victory was within sight when his opener Partner Clarkson was caught after scoring 26.
Maltby are third following a big win over Stafford Place. When they made first use of the wicket, Maltby realised 288 for the loss of just four wickets. The runs flowed from the bat of Morrow, who opened the innings and was still there at the end undefeated on 106. Hobson (43), Hutchinson with 37 and Cowan (57) were all in top form for Maltby.
When they made use of the wicket Stafford Place were all out for 111. Metcalfe who went in at number three, made a valuable 49 but the target was always beyond the home side as French returned the outstanding analysis of six for 24.
Bottom of the table Swainby made a useful 127 for eight but still lost to Thimbleby. Coatesworth opened the Swainby inning scoring 24 before Lewis ended undefeated on 48 out of a total of 127 for eight. Sinclair claimed four of the wickets for 47 runs and Garbutt took three at a cost of 21 runs.
When they responded, Thimbleby were indebted to opener Barningham who remained undefeated on 71 out of a total of 129 for three. Two of the three wickets to fall were taken by Beadle for 39 runs.
Ingleby Greenhow totalled 129 before losing by four wickets to Chopgate. Cameron-Clarke (47) and Staples with 31 produced a productive partnership for the second wicket for Ingleby Greenhow but following their dismissal not another player made double figures as Vout took four for 29 and Stockton five for 48.
Replying, Chopgate reached the target losing just six wickets as man of the match Stockton followed up his outstanding performance with the ball ended unbeaten on 44 . Holmes, who opened the innings scored 24 before being run out while for Ingleby Greenhow, Arthur Fawcett captured four of the six wickets to fall foir 38 runs.
Hutton Rudby visited Kildale and won losing just three wickets when they were required to score 123 runs.
After conceding an early wicket Hutton Rudby quickly recovered through Green (30) and Pugh (21) before Wyatt carried his bat for 51 out of a total of 125 for three.
When they made first use of the wicket, Kildale struggled early on but Proud raised the score by contributing 44. Cooke was in good form with the ball for Hutton Rudby returning four for 27 and Cook did even better conceding only 14 runs taking four wickets when he was introduced as third change into the attack.
