SOME of the region's best-known radio presenters are going head to head in the hunt for bargains to raise cash for charity.
Paul Gough and Neil Caven from Century FM's 'Goffy In The Morning' take on Vicki Archer and Marky Mark from Magic 1152, in the ITV programme Bootsale Challenge, to be screened on Sunday at 6pm.
The show sees the rival teams given £100 to search Tynedale Rugby Club car boot sale for bargains, to be sold at auction at Tynemouth Station Market. The team which makes the most money wins.
The results have not yet been revealed but antiques dealer Judith Michael, who gives hints and tips during the challenge, said: "After a dubious start, both teams started to pay attention and things went better.
"Goffy and Neil used their charm to pick up lots of freebies but amongst the old ties, vintage records and strange exercise equipment were a couple of real gems, including an immaculate Victorian washbowl."
Goffy said: "We though it was just a matter of grabbing anything and everything. But we reckon that our chosen charity - The Clarke Lister Brain Haemorrhage Foundation - should do pretty well out of this."
Rival Vicki Archer said: "We have no idea when it comes to antiques. My image of Marky flew right out of the window when I saw him haggling over a stuffed panda.
"But we soon got in to the swing of things and hope that we make some money for the Just For Kids charity.
