A TALENTED concert pianist has entertained an audience at a North-East school.
Valerie Anne French, a 19-year-old medical student from Malta, visited the region to give a piano recital at Polam Hall School, in Darlington.
She was in the North after winning a music competition in her home country, and also visited the Lake District during her time in Britain.
Valerie started taking piano lessons at the age of five and has passed several Royal School of Music grades with distinction.
Susanne Davison, acting headteacher at Polam Hall School, said: "The school was delighted to welcome such an inspiring musician as Valerie Anne to perform a recital here."
