A PROSTITUTE died from an overdose of drugs the day after her release from prison, an inquest has heard.
Home Office pathologist Dr Nigel Cooper told an inquest in Middlesbrough that heroin addict Kelly Marie Reeves may have lost her tolerance for drugs while serving a sentence in Low Newton Remand Centre, County Durham.
Dr Cooper said the 21-year-old asthma sufferer had died from a combination of morphine and cocaine. Valium and Ecstasy were also found in her blood.
The inquest heard that Ms Reeves took most of the drugs in front of her father, Gordon Wilkinson, who admitted he had taken heroin for about 20 years. He told police in a statement: "I buy drugs from anywhere where I can get it."
He said he went to a house to find Kelly smoking heroin.
She was found dead the next day in her father's bed, at his flat in Park Road North, Middlesbrough.
Recording a verdict of misadventure, Teesside Coroner Michael Sheffield said: "It is clear she intended to take the drugs that ended her life. The drugs she took for recreational purposes did end her life."
