A HEROIN addict's trip to buy drugs landed him in jail yesterday.
Teesside Crown Court heard that David Ray, 42, was spotted by police who knew he was disqualified from driving.
Prosecutor Martina Conolly said that when he realised he was being followed by police, Ray panicked. He parked the red Vauxhall Cavalier near his home in Saltburn, then threw two packets of heroin he had bought in Middlesbrough over a wall.
Ray of Emerald Street, Saltburn, was jailed for nine months and disqualified from driving for six months after he pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to supply, and driving while disqualified and without insurance on July 18 last year.
