Emergency Services League: The only three matches played resulted in draws.
Stockton's draw at Langbaurgh, in the Cleveland derby, was probably the best earned point. Stockton had signed have a dozen new players for this season and did well to secure a point against the team who finished fourth last time around. Andy Blackett gave Stockton a first half lead from the penalty spot. Rob Walker headed Langbaurgh's second half equaliser.
Darlington finished bottom for the last two seasons, but they got off and running with a point at home to Durham HQ. Ellis Hall gave the visitors the lead, but Dave Barker was on hand to equalise for Darlington. Keeper, Stuart Dawson was Darlington's star man as his side hung on for a point.
In the other match, Derwentside and Frankland shared four goals and the points. Derwentside held a two goal interval lead thanks to two strikes by man of the match Derek Sirett. Derwentside looked to have weathered the Frankland storm, until Elliott Sharp struck with a goal on his debut, with ten minutes remaining. With three minutes to go, a goalkeeping blunder let in Sharp to equalise and give his team a share of the points.
