A MAN is recovering after three robbers pinned him down and stole his cash.
The 31-year-old victim was walking along Priory Road in Jarrow, South Tyneside, when he was approached by the trio.
One asked the man for a light. The group then grabbed him, forced him to the ground and pinned him there while they searched his pockets. They escaped with cash and ran off towards the day centre in Priory Road.
All three were aged 18 to 20. The first was 5ft 10in, of stocky build and was wearing a black jacket, black baseball cap and tracksuit bottoms.
The second was 6ft 2in, with a baby face and curly, light brown hair. He was wearing a blue jacket, tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
The victim was unable to describe the third attacker.
