County Super League: Crook fought back from the edge of defeat to force a draw when they visited Horden and took the final four frames.
The home side had two points from John Bourne and Jed Evan with Jimmy Evans, Darren Jones and Shaun Williams to go to the hill, whilst the visitors' only points came from Johnny Mason, Gavin Witton and Gerald Parkin. Facing imminent defeat the Crook team got their heads down and had a second win from Johnny Mason and points from Cliff Owen and Les Scott to set up the decider. In this match it looked as if Horden had snatched victory when Paul Hickman potted the black against Gavin Witton but the cue ball crawled over the table and into the pocket to level the teams.
Spennymoor kept the pressure up at the top end of the league with a four points win at Ferryhill. Dave Elliot and Paul Biddle made two wins with Steve Hunter, Ronnie McAloon, Shaun Archer, Dave Bromley and Steven Jones adding one each. Ferryhill replied with two wins from Steven Wray and one each from Phil Cox, Steve Webster and Simon Corbridge.
Durham A travelled Tow Law and came away with a two points victory. Durham had two wins from Chris Bowron and Helen Littlewood with Ben Bowen, Dave Neill, Dave Ferguson and Paul Shutt adding one each. The Lawyers replied with two wins from John Beveridge and one each from Lee Cullinan, Charlie Donaghy, David Craggs and Andrew Burrows.

Bishop Auckland and District League
Witton Park Rose and Crown put up a very good showing on their trip to league leaders, Crook Olde Horse Shoe and just went down by three points. The home side had two singles wins from Cliff Owen and Gavin Witton with Johnny Mason and Dave Leighton adding one each, whilst the visitors' replied with two points from Paul Frame and one each from Barry Thexton and Stephen Barker. The Rose and Crown took the doubles through Brian Hardy and Stephen Barker but Gavin Witton clinched the Shoe's victory when he won both captain's games against Paul Frame.
Spennymoor Ash Tree strengthened their Championship hopes when they only dropped three points in the local derby at Spennymoor Weardale. The home side took three singles points through Shaun Archer, Martin Short and Shane Casen but from their the Ash Tree took over with two points from Ronnie McAloon and Steve Jones and one each from Steve Hunter, Richard Turner and Paul Biddle. Jones and Turner added the doubles before Paul Biddle beat Shaun Archer in both captain's games.
The Horse Shoe are 18 points clear at the top but the Ash Tree have two matches in hand, whilst Crook Coach and Horses A are fourteen points behind the Ash Tree with an extra match played.

Crook League
Despite being doomed to relegation, Crook Jelly's Bar A put up a great show to hold the visiting Crook Coach and Horses A to a draw and keep them out of the top three in the First Division. Jelly's had two points from Michael Jewitt and one each from Keith Dixon, Glynn Vasey, Andrew Heyes and Frank Samuels with Vasey and Heyes taking a doubles. The Coach found themselves 7-6 down when they had singles wins from Lee Scott, Paul Fiddis, Adam Martin and Ray Holliday with Scott and Holliday adding a doubles. In the final game the Coach forced a draw when lee Scott beat Keith Dixon.
Crook King's Head relied on Stephen Carter, who was making a comeback to the league after a long lay-off, to force the draw on their visit to Hunwick Club, where he beat Ian Richardson. Hunwick had two points from Neville Blenkinsopp and one each from Robert Todd, Ian Richardson, Andrew Brownless and Andrew Carr to add to the doubles of Richardson and Todd. The King's had two points from Dave brown and one each for Stephen Dawson, Stuart Miller and Kevin Carter with Karl Maddison and Dave Brown taking a doubles to set up Stephen Carter's rescue act.
Crook Olde Horse Shoe A lead the First Division by 26 points from the Travellers Rest B, who are 16 ahead of Crook Belle Vue. The Second Division was long since won by the Coach and Horses B who are now 53 points ahead of the King's Head, who lead Howden Australian by six points but have played an extra match.

Tow Law Scottish Courage League
Tow Law Dan's Castle A made the best fight back of the season after they trailed by four points at Newhouse Club but recovered to take the final five points for victory. However the odd point success was not enough to keep them at the top of the table as Sunniside Comedian only dropped one point at Tow Law New Market A to move a point clear at the top of the table, with Tow Law Football Club four points behind the Castle.
Newhouse Club raced into a four points lead against the visiting Dan's Castle A with wins from Stephen Sykes, Graeme Thompson, Harry Dinsdale and Ian Dinsdale. Anthony Hird and Lee Furber pulled back the last two singles for the Castle, who then levelled by taking the first two doubles. In the decider the visiting Alan Henderson and Colin Armstrong beat Graeme Thompson and Harry Dinsdale.
Sunniside Comedian shot to the top of the table when only Tom Dowson managed to take a point for the New Market A. The Comic had wins from Ray Johnson, Dave Walton, John Conoly, Dave Thompson and Morgan Errington to add to their three doubles.
