Tynemouth reached the final of the Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League Lingarde Junior Cup with a 51 runs victory over Tynedale.

The Seasiders totalled 144 for six which included 58 by Ian Purdy with one six and four fours. Ben Dedman had six boundaries in 28 and Tom Pollock three fours out of 22 while for Tynedale, Joe Barber took two for 27 in five overs.

When they went into bat, Tynedale managed only 93 for five which included 27 by Tristan Douglas and 22 from Craig Barber. Scott Brain sent down three overs in the Tynemouth attack returned two for 18 and Chris Dunlop took two for 25 from his five overs spell.

Under-18s

Runs were plentiful and particularly at Felling where Philadelphia realised 162 without conceding a wicket. Berwick was unlucky not to compile a century ending with 99 not out and Luke Anderson carried his bat for 55.

In reply Felling made 97 for three which included 44 by Paul Leonard while for Phili Thomas Raine took two of the three wickets to go down for 25 runs.

Fletcher, with 61 and Andrew Dixon with 52, led Horden to an impressive 130 for four at Hetton Lyons, who replied with 76 for five. Mattie Kane claimed two wickets for 16 runs and scored 22 for the Lyons and Ryan Pringle contributed 21 to the Hetton team's score.

After reaching 118 for five South Shields restricted Chester-le-Street to 72 for six and Gateshead Fell defeated Marsden by seven wickets after their opponents managed only 79.

Boldon totalled 141 for four in their local derby with Whitburn who were 113 at stumps. Richard Potter was in fine form for Boldon scoring 75 and when Whitburn replied Ryan Dent claimed three wickets for 13 runs in the Boldon attack.

Under-15

Durham City enjoyed a comfortable victory when they visited Seaham Harbour. Batting first they posted 105 for four which included a top scoring 31 by Finch, while for the home side Chris Burdess claimed two of two of the four wickets to fall for 11 runs.

Burdess then starred in the Seaham Harbour innings but despite making half his team's total, Seaham Harbour were all out for just 68. Williamson was in splendid form with the ball for Durham City ending with four wickets for eight runs, while Pratt took two for five and Park two for 21.

Chester-le-Street were another side to win easily on their visit to South Hetton who they restricted to 69 for eight when Taylor claimed three wickets for a mere eight runs. The feature of the game though was a magnificent century by Smith who contributed 101 of the Chester-le-Street total of 156 for two.

Philadelphia overtook the Eppleton total of 70 for four with four wickets remaining. Luke Anderson, who has recently been introduced into the first team, was again in excellent form as he carried his bat for 39 out of a total of 71 for six. Four of the wickets were taken by Elliott Hughes for just 17 runs.

When Eppleton batted first and realised 70 for four their top scorer was Anthony Anderson with 29 and for Phili Gregg Dixon captured three wickets for just 17 runs.

South Shields overtook the Burnmoor total of 50 for four losing just one wicket. Adam Dawson carried his bat for 24 and John Hutton also remained unbeaten on 18. When Burnmoor made first use of the wicket no fewer than 31 of their total came from Dan Embleton while for South Shields Chris Dougherty claimed two wickets for a mere 13 runs.

Felling enjoyed a romp in their game at Marsden where Paul Leonard scored 74 and Chris Gorge 24 out of a total of 118. Replying Marsden managed only 63 for four which included 23 from Paris.

Sunderland had 34 runs to spare in their local derby game with Boldon at Ashbrooke. Michael Fenwick's undefeated 51 led Sunderland to 108 for five and replying Boldon managed only 74 for the loss of nine wickets.

Durham Coast League

Under-13

Seaham Park ended the season with a decisive victory over neighbours Dawdon when the sides met in a rearranged fixture which had earlier been postponed.

Batting first, Seaham Park realised 129 for four with Joe Jones hitting six boundaries in an unbeaten 44 and Lee Hodgson five fours out of 34. Ali Bird claimed two of the four wickets to fall for just 12 runs in two overs.

In reply, Dawdon managed only 86 for seven which included a top scoring 18 by Thompson. Dean Mansfield picked up two for eight in two overs for Seaham Park.

Under-15

Easington had nine wickets to spare overtaking the Dawdon total of 90 for seven which included 21 by Edwards. Joe Kennedy claimed three wickets for just 16 runs, Tony Forbes returned two for 28 and Jonathan Parker two for 12.

When Easington replied they lost one wicket but were never in danger as Jason Moses carried his bat for 47 and Jonathan Ruddick also remained unbeaten on 29.

Houghton romped to 125 for one wicket at home to Hylton and had 50 runs to spare at the end of the game. Gavin Kean struck eight boundaries in an unbeaten 65 and Alan Marchant had three fours and 44 before Hylton found the bowling of Shaun Hauxwell problematic. The youngster captured three wickets without conceding a run in two overs and although Curry contributed 25, Hylton were all out for 75.

Murton managed only 49 runs in their home game with Castle Eden for whom Bailey claimed three wickets for 11 runs, Freeman two for three and Malkin captured two wickets at the cost of just one run.

Greener top scored with 26 when Castle Eden posted 89 for seven with Robbie Elliott returning two for 15, Daniel Laws two for 21 and Karl Rich two for 13 in the Murton attack.

Robinson (29) led Seaham Park to a five wickets victory at Silksworth. Faced with a target of 86 the visitors lost five wickets, three of them to Liam Mallaburn with just ten runs. Batting first Silksworth posted 85 for four of which Craig Nield scored 24 and for Seaham Park Wallace had two for 13.

Ryhope reached 200 for the loss of six wickets in their game at Bill Quay. Christian Summerside struck five sixes and 12 boundaries in a marvellous innings of 97, Hughes contributed 36 and Miller 30 while for Bill Quay Jordan Gilmour captured five wickets for a meagre 18 runs in four overs.

Replying Bill Quay posted 97 for six of which Nathan Drury scored 28 and for Ryhope Dominic Davidson 24. All his runs came from six hits.

Kevin Streugheir had four boundaries in 40 and Sam Wraith added 22 to the Boldon CA total of 112 for six in the home game with Peterlee for whom Malt took two wickets for 13 runs in four overs and Dixon three for 15 from the four overs he delivered.

When they went into bat Peterlee ended on 89 for nine which included 25 by Malt with three boundaries, while for Boldon CA, Anthony Sawyer claimed two wickets for ten runs in two overs.

In a rearranged fixture Ryhope were also in scoring form at home to Castle Eden. Christian Summerside recorded one six and ten fours carrying his bat for 62 and David Hughes was unbeaten on 36 with one six and two fours. David Miller contributed 25 to the Ryhope total of 151 for two compiled from just 20 overs. When they responded Castle Eden made 83 for four of which Malkin scored 34 and Christopher Tudball 23.
