Darlington striker Glen Robson will be hoping to show Rochdale what they missed in tomorrow's Third Division clash at Spotland.
Five years after he was shown the door by Dale, where he made just 11 appearances in two years, the Sunderland-born forward returns to the club with Quakers.
The former Blyth man, signed by Quakers boss Mick Tait this month after a successful trial spell when he netted twice in three games, has yet to score and will be looking to get off the mark against Alan Buckley's side.
However, Robson's chances of starting will hinge on whether Tait keeps faith with Matt Clarke, who was on target in the win over Leyton Orient.
The 6ft 3in defender has proved to be a more than capable targetman alongside Barry Conlon, and Tait will decide in the next 24 hours whether to leave Clarke up front.
Alternatively he could drop Clarke back into defence and play Robson against his former side, who like Quakers, celebrated their first League win of the season on Monday with a 3-1 victory at Torquay.
Another striker who will be hoping to force his way back into Tait's plans is Danny Mellanby, who scored for the reserves this week.
The 24-year-old, who missed the defeats by Kidderminster and Northampton with a recurrence of a rib injury, staked his claim for a starting place in the best possible way with a superb lob in the defeat by Lincoln City reserves on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile former Darlington defender Simon Betts has agreed to join Whitby Town.
l Hartlepool United boss Neale Cooper last night made his sixth signing in a little over two months, writes NICK LOUGHLIN.
Ex-Aberdeen and Rangers midfielder Cooper signed Celtic midfielder Ryan McCann on a two-year deal.
